I Love You

You and I don’t celebrate Valentines Day. Not because we want to make a statement or because we don’t love each other, we just genuinely don’t think about it and move on with our day. As the days approach to Lincoln, I can’t help but be overwhelmed with how much love I have for both of you. Maybe it’s the hormones, but I can’t imagine anyone else I want to raise this sweet little baby with. I didn’t realize it almost 6 years ago, but God has given me the most perfect partner in every way imaginable. I’ve told God several times that if you go before me, I best follow behind real quick because no other man could be what you are for me.

So in true Frank fashion, here is a list of all the reasons why I love you. I love you because...

You Lead Our Family to the Lord

Every day, without fail, you start your morning with Jesus. I know that when you’ve gotten up and gotten dressed, you’re at the kitchen table eating breakfast and reading your bible. I didn’t realize in the beginning of our marriage how important this was for me, but because of you and your Godly leadership, I came to know the Lord in 2015. Of course, there were other factors, but without a doubt, your daily walk with the Lord poured over into me and made me want to have a relationship with Him and chase after Him with you.

You Push Me to be Better

I constantly read on various medias how the wife runs the house, or the wife is the goddess and the husband is the dumb oaf behind her. And though you make me feel special and loved all the time, you know I am far from perfect and you’re not afraid to confront that. You call me out on my sin. You hold me accountable. You push and ask questions, not to demean or to demoralize me, but to strengthen me and help me hold firm to my convictions. Our miscarriages were hell and several days I just showed up. I didn’t chase the Lord. I didn’t care about others or my ministry. And I know you hated to do it because you were grieving too, but every day you asked, “Are you reading your bible? Are you telling God what’s going on?” In the moment, I hated those questions. And I let you know it! But you never stopped. You never relented because you knew that I couldn’t stay upset, I couldn’t stay away from my Lord. And because of you and your leadership, I was able to bring my broken self to the Lord and allow Him to heal me and restore me. I was able to go through miscarriage after miscarriage because I had you, and I had you pushing me to Jesus even when I didn’t want to.

You Love Lincoln

I remember when I told you I was pregnant. I was holding back tears, so scared that we would lose him like the others. But you held me and looked me in the eyes and told me it would be ok. We would pray over him every day and trust God with the rest. You may not have felt so confident on the inside, but your strength and steadfastness held me together when I wanted to break down and scream for those first few months. And as he grew, I could see your love for him grow as well. As soon as he became a visible bump, I could tell that he wasn’t some foreign entity to you. He was Lincoln. He was your son. And you’ve been ready to meet him since day one! You talk to him and play with him. You put his room together so perfectly and I constantly find you sitting in his room just waiting for his arrival. You plan future events with him and you are so excited to teach him all the things you know and love. You’re so ready to be Lincoln’s dad and I love it! You’re going to be such a great daddy and I can’t wait for Lincoln to look at you and adore you like you already do him.

You Are Passionate and Bold

Nothing stops you, my love. You have so many ideas and so many plans. You have so many talents and it’s often hard for you to decide which area to pursue! You love so much and so fiercely. It’s not often easy to see from someone on the outside, but those who know you know you’re a force to be reckoned with. Nothing will stop you. No is not an option because everyone else is wrong and you will go to the ends of the earth to get that Yes. You will do anything and everything for your family and for your dreams. You have no problem laying out the truth for someone, not because you dislike this person, but because you know this person could be better and you want that so badly for them. You’re not fine with the status quo or traditions, you want people to love Jesus and live for Him. You want to write and tell others about Jesus. You want to make music and create art. You want to build and be a part of something bigger than yourself. And I have no doubt that you will do all these things, my love. I don’t care how many times you fail or who tells you No, you are going to be someone and change this world for the better.

You Are my Best Friend

Is this cliche? Of course it is! But those who’ve met us will attest that we are the same person. How we work, being so alike, is kind of mind boggling, but we do! How often have we watched a show and commented on some side character’s look/trait at the same time? How many times have we texted each other about something going on and the other responded, “I WAS JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT!” We have the same brain. We have the same interests. We can be in a room both doing separate activities but still feel so connected because just being around each other is enough. I can say the weirdest most outlandish things and you still think I’m funny! I am so comfortable around you and I know that no matter what, you will always love me and think I’m the best thing ever.

To summarize, I love you, Cameron Scott Frank. You are my world. I wouldn’t trade a single thing in this world for you. You mean more to me than I have the words to say. I thank God every day for you and I pray always that we spend at least 75 more years together. 😉 You are my forever Valentine and I can’t wait to share this day with you AND Lincoln. Happy Valentines Day, my love. I love you!
