For Just A Little While
You are a person. Actual and whole. Though your body is small and your personality meek, your soul is so big. God has known you for awhile and has created your beautiful soul in the image of His own. You are His child. We just get to watch you for a little while. God has big plans for you. Someday you will follow Jesus and He will take you places we have never dreamed. You are a champion, and you are the Lord’s. We just get to watch you for a little while.
Your identity is your own, and the Lord knows you deeper than we can ever hope to. You have already shown us how strong you are, and we can’t wait to see how strong you will be. God has made you with strength bigger than your size, and we get to watch you for a little while.
Someday you will be independent. It will happen before we’re ready, no matter when it happens. You will be a man and follow the steps that God has made before you. God has created you for a purpose and a reason, we just get to watch you for a little while.
You have siblings already, but you won’t meet them for a while. They have strong little souls and God knows their names. They are beautiful people and God had a plan for them, too, and part of that plan was to go and be with Him. That’s how we know God has big plans for you—because He sent you to us. We just get to watch you for a little while.
It won’t always be easy, and we will struggle and strain. Your mom and I will make mistakes, and you will rebel. We are all always growing and fighting against the curse. We will do our best to raise you in the Word and in the way the Lord has designed. You will grow and be a man and serve the Lord, but first, we get to watch you for a little while.
Just like we never drive more carefully than when driving someone else’s car, we know we have to take care of you the best of our ability because you are a child of God. We will do everything we can to be the best parents for you. God has trusted us with your stewardship, so we have to take care of His child the best we can because we just get to watch you for a little while.
Never forget that you are strong. You are a child of God and He has a mighty plan for you. We just get to watch you for a little while.
